A full heel replacement for men’s shoes is £20.00. We remove the worn heel completely, prepare the base of the shoe, and attach a new heel of the correct height, shape, and material. The heel is finished and buffed to match the shoe as closely as possible.
Men’s heels typically wear down unevenly — most people favour one side of the heel over the other depending on their gait. An unevenly worn heel puts stress on the ankle and knee over time. Replacing it restores the correct heel height and takes the asymmetry out of the shoe’s base.

Women’s heel repair for standard heels is £15.00. This covers block heels, kitten heels, and lower wedge-style heels in both leather and synthetic construction. We replace the heel section fully, finishing and buffing to match the original as closely as possible.
Women’s shoes in leather are worth repairing regularly — a good quality leather upper that fits well and is comfortable is genuinely difficult to replace, and the heel is the first part to fail. A replacement heel at £15.00 extends the life of the shoe considerably.
High heels — three inches or taller — are priced at £25.00 for repair. The increased price reflects the additional precision required to work at that heel height. Getting the angle, height, and balance of a high heel exactly right affects how the shoe sits on the foot. A high heel replaced at the wrong angle puts the shoe off-balance and makes it uncomfortable or unstable to wear.
We replace heel tips — the small insert at the very bottom of a stiletto or narrow heel — as a separate, quicker service. Tip replacement is a smaller job than a full heel replacement and extends the life of the heel before a full replacement becomes necessary. If you hear a clicking sound on hard floors or notice the tip has gone, come in — it is cheaper and quicker to deal with at that stage.
The top piece is the component at the very base of a men’s heel — the part that makes direct contact with the ground on every step. It wears down faster than the heel itself because it takes the full impact of walking. Replacing it before it wears through to the heel proper is the smartest maintenance step for any good pair of men’s shoes.
Top piece replacement is £25.00. It is quicker than a full heel replacement and less disruptive to the structure of the shoe. If the top piece has already gone and the heel itself is beginning to take damage, a full heel replacement is the right call.
Heel wear is normal and unavoidable. But the pattern of wear tells you something about how a shoe is being used and how the wearer walks.
Even wear across the full heel base is healthy and normal. Wear concentrated at the outer rear corner of the heel — the most common pattern — indicates a natural heel strike and gait. Wear concentrated at the inner rear corner suggests an inward roll on landing. Wear across the front of the heel suggests the wearer is walking on their toes or the shoe is too large.
None of these wear patterns are problems in themselves. They all produce a worn heel that needs replacing. Where a pattern is very pronounced, it is worth knowing about because it may mean the replacement heel wears down faster than average in the same place.
The right time to come in is before the heel has worn through to the heel seat. Once the leather or material of the heel seat begins to take damage from direct contact with the ground, the repair becomes more involved — and sometimes the shoe cannot be fully restored to its original profile.
A heel that clicks on hard floors — the tip has gone. A heel that sits noticeably lower on one side than the other — the wear is asymmetric and getting worse. A heel that shows bare material or metal — it has worn through. All three are good reasons to come in.

Can you repair a heel on a shoe where the leather upper is also damaged?
We assess the full shoe before starting. If the upper is in good condition, heel repair is straightforward. If the upper has significant damage, we discuss whether the repair is worthwhile given the condition of the rest of the shoe.
My high heel tip has come off completely. Can you replace just the tip?
Yes. Tip replacement is a quick repair — the pin and tip assembly is replaced at the base of the heel. Bring the shoe in and we will sort it.
Can you repair both heels at the same time?
Yes. Most people bring both shoes in together. We repair both heels to the same height and finish so the pair is balanced.
How long do repaired heels last?
That depends on how the shoe is worn and on what surfaces. A good quality replacement heel on a shoe worn on normal pavements should last a similar amount of time to the original heel. Regular top piece replacement extends the life of the heel itself considerably.
