A duvet absorbs a significant amount during regular use. Perspiration, skin cells, body oils, and dust mite activity all work through the cover and into the filling over time. None of that is removed by airing the duvet or washing the cover.

Synthetic duvets — hollow fibre fill, microfibre fill, and other man-made materials — are the most common type we clean. Single synthetic duvets are £24.99. Double synthetic duvets are £29.99.
Synthetic fill is generally more tolerant of washing than natural fill, but it still needs the right cycle and proper drying to avoid the fill clumping or shifting unevenly inside the duvet casing. A duvet that comes back from cleaning with fill bunched in one corner is not usable. We check the fill distribution after drying and before the duvet is returned.
Feather and down duvets need more careful handling than synthetic ones. The natural fill clusters are sensitive to the wrong type of cleaning agent and to insufficient drying — both of which cause permanent clumping that reduces the duvet’s warmth and comfort.
We clean feather single duvets for £30.00. The process uses a method suited to natural protein-based fill. Drying is managed at the right temperature to evaporate moisture from the fill without damaging the clusters. After drying, the fill is checked for even distribution before the duvet leaves the shop.
If you have a high-tog feather or down duvet — a 13.5 or 15 tog winter duvet with significant filling weight — allow a little extra time. These take longer to dry thoroughly than a lighter summer duvet of the same size.
King size duvets are £39.99. Super king duvets are assessed at drop-off depending on fill type and weight.
The issue most people run into with large duvets at home is straightforward: the drum is not big enough. A king size duvet stuffed into an undersized machine does not rotate freely. The fill on the inside stays damp while the outside dries, and the result is uneven cleaning and a genuine mildew risk. We have the capacity to wash and dry large duvets properly — that is the whole point of using a professional service.
We clean pillows alongside duvets regularly. A pair of pillows is £25.00. Pillows absorb the same range of materials as duvets — perspiration, skin oils, and dust mite activity — and are often overlooked in the same way.
Standard pillows, anti-allergy pillows, and feather pillows are all handled. Memory foam pillows are assessed individually — some cannot be submerged, and we check the care label before proceeding. Feather pillows are dried carefully to prevent the fill from matting together in the same way as feather duvets.
Twice a year is a sensible interval for most duvets — once at the end of winter before the duvet goes into summer storage, and once at the end of summer before it comes back out. Cleaning before storage means the duvet does not sit folded with months of use absorbed into the filling. It comes out of storage smelling clean and feeling fresh.
Outside of that schedule, bring a duvet in if it has been stained — a spilled drink, a sick child, anything that has gone through the cover — or if it has developed a noticeable smell. Both situations are better dealt with quickly.

Can you clean a duvet that has been stored unwashed for a year?
Yes. Duvets that have been in storage for a season or longer often come back significantly fresher after a professional clean. Old staining and storage odour are both addressed in the cleaning process.
What if my duvet does not have a care label?
Bring it in. We assess the fill type and fabric by feel and look before choosing a cleaning method. If there is any uncertainty about the safest approach, we discuss it with you before starting.
Do you clean electric blankets or heated throws?
No. Electric blankets and heated throws have wiring components that cannot go through any cleaning process safely. These are outside the scope of what we handle.
My duvet feels lumpy after I washed it at home. Can you fix it?
Often yes. Clumping from insufficient drying or an undersized machine drum can sometimes be improved by a professional wash and thorough drying. If the fill has been permanently damaged rather than just unevenly dried, we will let you know honestly after assessment.
