We launder sheets in cotton, percale, sateen, polycotton, and linen. Standard sheets — plain, fitted, and frilled — start from £7.50. Linen sheets are £8.00. The difference in price reflects the additional care linen needs: lower wash temperatures, careful handling to avoid excessive creasing during the cycle, and a longer pressing time to get a clean finish.
Fitted sheets are the ones that give most people trouble at home — they come out of the machine damp in the corners, go into the tumble dryer, and come out with elastic that has started to degrade and corners that never quite iron flat. We press fitted sheets on the right equipment so the panel lies flat and the corners are done properly.
Frilled sheets need extra attention at the press stage. The frilling is fragile and needs finishing separately from the main panel rather than put through a flat press.
Pillowcases are £3.50 each. They are the piece of bedding that gets the most direct contact with skin and hair overnight, and they absorb more than most people realise — makeup residue, hair products, perspiration, and skin oils work into the fabric directly.
Most pillowcases are cotton or percale. Oxford pillowcases — the ones with the flat border — need a specific approach at the press stage to keep the border crisp and even. We handle both housewife and Oxford styles.
If you are buying new pillowcases and want them laundered before first use, that is a common request. New bedding from the factory often carries a sizing agent or finishing chemical that washes out after the first launder, making the fabric softer and more comfortable.
A four-piece bed set — duvet cover, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases — is £20.00. A six-piece set is also £20.00. These are the most common items customers bring in when they want a full linen change done properly rather than through a home machine.

Quilted bedspreads need particular attention during the wash and drying stages to keep the quilting even. If the fill inside the quilting shifts or clumps during washing, the bedspread loses its shape and never quite sits flat on the bed again. We handle the wash cycle carefully and check the quilting after drying before the piece leaves the shop.
Single blankets — whether washing or dry cleaning is needed — are £24.99 for washing and £29.99 for dry cleaning. Double blankets are £29.99 for washing and £45.00 for dry cleaning.
Wool blankets are the ones that need the most care. Wool felts under heat and agitation — the fibres tighten permanently and the blanket shrinks and stiffens in a way that cannot be reversed. We use a cool, gentle cycle for wool and wool-blend blankets, and we dry them flat to avoid the weight of the wet fabric pulling the shape out. A wool blanket dried hanging from one end stretches unevenly and never hangs right again.
Fleece and cotton blankets are less demanding but still benefit from a professional wash and finish over a home machine cycle, particularly for larger double-size pieces where even heat distribution in a domestic drum is difficult.
Everything we launder comes back pressed and folded. Flat sheets are pressed and folded in thirds so they store cleanly. Duvet covers are pressed on the exterior and folded. Pillowcases are finished individually.
If you want items returned on hangers rather than folded — useful for duvet covers you want to hang to air before putting back on the bed — mention it when you drop off and we will accommodate that.
Weekly for pillowcases and sheet covers is the standard advice for most people. Full bed sets — including the fitted sheet — are most commonly done every one to two weeks.
Bedspreads and heavier blankets used regularly benefit from cleaning every season at minimum. Those stored between seasons should be cleaned before storage so they do not sit folded with use absorbed into the fabric over months.

Can you launder king size sheets and duvet covers?
Yes. King size and super king bedding is handled regularly. We check the drum load for larger items to make sure the whole piece gets an even clean rather than parts sitting compressed during the cycle.
Do you press fitted sheets?
Yes. Fitted sheets are pressed flat — the elasticated corners are done separately from the main panel. They come back folded neatly rather than bundled into a ball, which is what most people get from a home machine.
Can you remove a stain from a white sheet?
Usually yes, particularly if the sheet comes in soon after the stain. Blood, tea, wine, and makeup all respond to pre-treatment before the main wash. Old set staining is harder but often partially improvable. We assess each stain honestly before starting.
Do you launder mattress protectors?
Yes. Mattress protectors are laundered separately and priced at drop-off depending on size and fabric. Protectors with waterproof backing need a specific cycle to avoid damaging the backing layer.
