The press-only service covers most garments. Shirts, trousers, suits, jackets, coats, dresses, skirts, t-shirts, and shorts are all on the standard price list. For anything not listed, bring it in and we will quote at drop-off.
Every garment is pressed to its fabric. Cotton gets the heat it needs. Silk and synthetics get a lower setting and a pressing cloth where the fabric requires it. Velvet is handled with the pile direction in mind. Nothing comes back with a sheen mark, a scorch, or a hard press line in the wrong place.
Shirt pressing is £1.99 for a standard cotton shirt. Linen shirts are £2.20. These are the most common items for the press-only service — shirts that have been washed at home, come back looking clean but creased, and need finishing before wearing.
A home iron on a cotton shirt is fine for most purposes. The difference with a commercial press is in the collar and the finish. A properly pressed collar sits flat all day. The body of the shirt holds its shape from the press rather than slowly softening through the morning. If you wear a shirt to meetings or client-facing work, it is worth the difference.
Trouser pressing is £5.50. That gets you a sharp crease down the front of each leg and a properly finished waistband and seat. Trousers that have been folded or packed tend to crease in unhelpful places — the press removes those and resets the line where it belongs.
A two-piece suit press is £12.50. The jacket is done on a pressing form — a shaped shoulder mount that allows the lapels, chest, and sleeves to be pressed in three dimensions rather than flat. That is what gives a pressed suit jacket its shape rather than a flat, two-dimensional finish. The trousers are done separately with the crease set.
A jacket pressed alone is £7.99. The process is the same as with a suit jacket — form-pressed rather than flat — with hand finishing on the lapels and collar. Jacket pressing is popular with customers who have had their jacket cleaned elsewhere and want it properly finished, or who bought a jacket at a sample sale and want it brought back to shape before wearing.
Dress pressing is £9.99. Skirt pressing is £4.99. Dresses with structured bodices, pleated skirts, and anything with embellishment are handled with the attention those details require. A pleated skirt pressed flat on a board comes out with the pleats in the wrong place. We press pleats in line, setting them properly so they hang correctly.

We match the temperature to the fabric on every garment. If a dress has mixed fabrics — a cotton bodice and a polyester skirt, for example — each section gets the right setting.
Coat pressing is £9.99. Coats that have been folded for storage or packed for travel often come out with heavy creasing across the body and sleeves. A proper press on a coat form restores the shape and removes the storage creases so it hangs correctly again.
If a coat has been cleaned with us and needs pressing as part of the same visit, pressing is included in the cleaning price. The press-only service is for coats that are already clean and just need finishing.
T-shirt pressing is £1.50 and shorts pressing is £3.50. These are smaller jobs but useful for people who want a clean finish on casual pieces before an event, a trip, or a presentation where smart casual matters.
Printed t-shirts are pressed on the reverse side or with a pressing cloth over the print to avoid heat damage to the print itself.
The press-only service is specifically for garments that are already clean. If a garment needs washing as well as pressing, the right option is the full launder.

Steam is applied at a consistent, controllable pressure rather than through a home iron’s steam holes. The temperature is accurate and adjustable in fine increments. And the weight of a professional press behind the steam sets creases and removes wrinkles in a single pass that would take multiple passes with a home iron.

Can you press a garment the same day?
Often yes, for standard pieces. Same-day pressing depends on how busy the shop is when you come in. If you need something back urgently, mention it at drop-off and we will do our best.
Do you press wedding dresses?
Wedding dress pressing is part of our wedding dress cleaning service rather than the standard press-only service. Bring it in and we will assess what is needed and quote accordingly.
Can you press leather or suede?
No. Leather and suede cannot be pressed with a standard iron or commercial press — heat damages the surface permanently. Leather finishing is handled as part of our leather cleaning service, not the press-only service.
What if I bring in something that turns out to need washing as well as pressing?
We check garments before taking them in. If something is obviously soiled and needs laundering first, we flag it and discuss the options with you before proceeding.
